Review on 🌐 GlocalMe Global Hotspot: Worldwide Roaming and International Networking Solutions by Daniel Smith

I bought this despite an ongoing legal battle that Glocalme and Skyroam seem to be involved in. Firmware and this new device, so I'm not too worried about long-term issues with the injunction they have against them. This device mysteriously appeared on Revain shortly after the injunction went into effect, and all the old devices mysteriously disappeared. So. There is not much information about it, but it bothered me before I bought this device. . No support for group 71 which is very bad for tmobile but you do what you can! I got a SIM card from Red Pocket, put 60GB on it and used it daily for about 5-6 days while camping in West Virginia (working remotely). It was reliable and gave me decent speeds, while my poor phone had crappy service from Tmobile (AT&T is the only wireless carrier with a decent presence in West Virginia). I liked this option because I know I can use it for both day trips and short business trips in the future and the freedom to choose transportation companies in the US and beyond is huge. Also buying data directly, although more expensive, will be really nice to start in a new country when I arrive. I really wish I had something like that when I visited Italy earlier this year. I will definitely take it with me for future adventures. In terms of usability, the form factor is pretty much the same as my thin body LG v30 that I have. It's practically just one button. Turn it on or off. The initial setup was easy and I haven't downloaded the app and linked it to my account yet as I just put my SIM card in there. I just gave the device a name and set the WiFi hotspot password and it was ready to go. What really impressed me is the WiFi range. I've strayed almost as far from this thing as I have from a regular router. It has a fairly strong Wi-Fi signal, which came in handy as I work a lot in an all-metal building. I usually leave the thing on the outside of the building and then work on the inside. Excellent signal - works almost like a cell signal booster. My only real gripe, as others have pointed out, is the lack of real case options. I babysit the device as it doesn't really offer much protection. It handles and feels like a cellphone, so you'll want to protect the screen from damage. It wasn't difficult to protect and I've been camping so it's been in pretty tough conditions so far. Let's see how it holds up over time. I won't take it camping often. They usually take it with them on business trips. Due to the lack of a case, I also found it fairly easy to turn it on in my backpack. Found a bag that holds it well enough that it doesn't button buttons while I move, but YMMV. You need to find a place where the sides aren't pinched, or it will constantly be in your backpack or wherever you keep it. The absence of Volume 71 was also a bummer, as I mentioned. I'll probably upgrade my phone at some point and use it when I stray too far from the T-Mobile network. Now that I have an AT&T SIM card, I think I'll be fine for now. After all, Glocalme is a Chinese company. I want to believe that they are looking after our interests, but China is in the midst of a major upheaval. Communications devices like this are fantastic spy devices and while I'd like to think they're not, I took that into account when making my purchasing decision. Huawei and Oneplus, the very popular Chinese communications companies, have been caught with spyware on their devices and networks. Don't think this company is immune to the whims of the Chinese government. So do your own research and make an informed decision. Overall I'm very happy with it. It is very portable, very easy to use and the battery lasts from 8am to 11pm daily with about 30% remaining capacity. Really can't complain!
