I have a 1996 Ultra that was in dire need of a fork oil change. The front of my bike had no shock absorbing properties at all. Needless to say it was an uncomfortable trip for me and my girlfriend. I have a real problem with the outdated oil dampening system Harley uses in their forks. In 1996 I can forgive them but they still use it. I think it was normal when only old people rode Harleys, but today's bagger riders are younger and ride harder. Are they really still selling 20,000-50,000 bikes with completely outdated technology? Yes. Yes they are. These progressive bets are great. I used 3 preloaded shims as directed and solo it's a bit stiff but 2 fit perfectly. I'm a tall boy so we're both sitting around 400 pounds. 2 spacers could be better for lighter riders. I lowered the bike by an inch. The bike already had 11.5 rear shocks and it sits perfectly, low and mean. I've ridden about 5,000 miles since installing it and love it. I've had many people tell me that lowering the bike an inch would eventually dent the top of my fender, but I had no problems and ran into some serious potholes. there was no bottom. Any road that required effort through twisty spots is now smooth and comfortable. The little lady is also more relaxed. She asked me when I would buy a new bike. Now she loves this bike. If you want to improve the handling and performance of your pack, get this kit. If you like how your Geezer Glide feels like a slow cruising couch, don't buy this product.
