Structurally and in terms of design, they are amazing. But they do allow fine powders to pass through. This makes the coffee cloudy and bitter as sediment settles to the bottom. You don't want ground coffee lying perfectly in the water as it will be thrown out. Therefore, the mesh size needs to be finer or add a paper filter. I will add paper filters as they help with cleaning. I grind these cups with a Breville Burr coffee grinder and put them in my Bunn My Cafe disposable machine. My coffee shop used to have a chopping basket that the mud doesn't go through, but filling and emptying the basket is a chore, and using these reusable tools with the kcup attachment helps make multiple cups quickly. Now I have to buy paper filters.
