Glue sticks well to gel polish and foil (and other decorations) sticks well to glue, but gelcoat does NOT stick well to foil or other decorations so it falls off after a few days. I found a few solutions that help a lot (my last confetti mani took me two weeks now): 1) When applying glue to the gel, don't apply the glue all the way to the edges. Leave a small, glue-free border around the nail so that it will adhere to the gel (not the glue) around the edges when you later apply the gelcoat. This works especially well for applying glitter, confetti, gold leaf, gems/rhinestones, etc. as long as you don't need them to get to the edges. Helps to apply another coat of glue on top (again leaving a tiny glue free border around the nail) then cure and apply the gel top coat(s). The gel topcoat adheres well to adhesives but not jewelry, so an extra coat of adhesive prevents chipping and two coats of topcoat seal jewelry smoothly.
