Well this thing leaves an ugly residue and will ruin all furniture except fabric. As for its effectiveness, any clever cat will see it and learn to jump over it. I had to tape everything and my clever cat learned to maneuver around the tape. It's also very expensive, it took me 5 rolls to seal everything. So if you like sticky stains all over the place (I ruined my leather sofa with this tape) and if you have a silly cat, then this tape is for you!
