I've been using them for about a year and a half. I bought 3 sets to fill two shelves of 9 cubes. They are arranged in rainbow order and each of the 6 columns has 3 identical baskets on top of each other. We put down heavy toys; Lincoln magazines, puzzle pieces, plasticine, children's magazines, and the like on the bottom rows. The rest have doll clothes, Barbie furniture, little balls, ponies, animals (items the size of Happy Meals), Polly's Pockets, flash drives, dress up items. All 18 still survive and are used by 4 children. They don't open them every day and heavy things are placed judiciously. They fill every cup perfectly without wasting space and slide in and out of the cubic laminate shelves with ease. The handle is needed for extracting the crates and prevents damaging the buckets when trying to dig them out. If the toy is discarded, the bottom may fall out and the bucket may be trampled on the ground. I worry when I find out a few days later that there is a bucket hidden under a pile of toys or clothes. never mind Pick it up, open it, find the bottom, fill it in, and the bucket works perfectly again. All 4 walls are rigid and 2 side walls are 2-piece, allowing the cubes to stack flat. The ground is a brittle material until the hard ground falls into place, making the dice strong enough. I was VERY happy with this purchase and have recommended them to others.
