Not used for security

Works great. I use it as a final latch for a corner door in an RV. If (all) the latches I installed vibrate, the door still won't open. I had to take some installation measurements to order the correct thickness. It was easy to mount the gasket on the inner hole as the next smaller size didn't match the thickness of the surfaces.
