The cross pieces look great and are dark purple. Keep in mind that they are metal and fingerprints can discolor a bit, but I don't mind. My problem is the green magnetic base of the d-pad where the metal parts snap into place. When I installed it the thrust was soft in the right direction and there was a lot of play in it. I compared it to a standard D-Pad and the difference was very clear. I ended up ordering an original d-pad magnetic base from a used elite controller and it seems perfect, as does the stock d-pad. The purple metal parts work with it, but it's disappointing that I had to make another purchase.
