I really like these lights. They are very well made, very similar to the more expensive models from other vendors, and fairly easy to install. Before buying I read some of the comments that the instructions were not very clear. However, I have not found this to be the case and perhaps if the instructions do not seem clear enough one could consider hiring a professional to install the lighting: it is electricity after all. I've had swing arm lights in the past that were hardwired so I had to convert them to connect (pretty easy to do) but I like that these lights are instead ready to be either hardwired or wired to assemble. Wires, the work is done! All you have to do is attach the plate to the wall (it's the round plate you get in the box, not the rectangular bar that's also shown in the pictures), attach the "Ground" wire around the green "Ground" screw on the plate and secure the lamp to the plate with the nuts provided. That's it. It took me less than 10 minutes to drill both lamps. The longest part measured the same height from the floor for both lamps with no one present during installation I would definitely buy these lamps again and as the arms can be tilted as needed these lights look great in any setting be it a room, a hallway or an entrance, beautiful and elegant.
