I have loved Hamilton Beach and have for about five decades. This electric egg cooker and poacher is a good device, albeit with a few drawbacks. Random cleaning is easy. It's worth noting that unless you're using distilled water, you'll need to clean the steam section of any residue after each use. The remaining parts are easy to clean. Eggs are delicious. I made scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese. The little pieces of egg (actually they were more like egg balls) were fluffy and delicious. On the other hand, there is no indication other than a green light indicating the end of the cycle. However, this is not the end of the cooking time. We ended up running it twice so the eggs were set without the runny qualities of an undercooked egg mixture. It's a bit of extra work to unplug, prime, and then plug back in for another five minutes or so. Is the taste that great? no Is it worth the effort when you can just make it in one pot? no Honestly, the poached egg element is good when you need poached eggs, but you'll probably still skip it twice, or at least boil the eggs after the water has boiled off. A timer or other cooking settings, a beep/chime when the cycle is over, an extra or extra omelet pan (instead of two cups), and an ability to add water during the cooking cycle to keep steaming would all be nice. Additions to really do it can not miss the device.
