I used the NOCO brand battery tender and service but settled on this one. There was an error. It's too late to return it so I'll probably throw it away. I have already purchased a junior battery tender to replace these units as I have purchased two. The main difference I've found between these and other brands is that this one seems to allow for a fast charge, then turns off when the other two brands are charging, then switches to float and keeps the batteries charged. I put it on top of my new batteries to keep them charged through the winter so they'll be ready in the spring when I need them. It charged the first day but when I checked again a week later the error light came on. I did a reset and the same thing happened. I then decided to put another maintainer on the battery who immediately started charging the battery. I wanted to see what condition the battery was in, so I immediately unplugged the other power cord and the battery was almost dead. It seemed to me that this device really drains the battery. I checked the connections before switching, the connections were good and made correctly. Another brand took more than a day to charge as this charger is only 0.80 amp. I would not recommend this product.
