Review on πŸ”Œ Murray MP120DF: A Versatile Circuit Breaker for Enhanced Functionality by Walter Velasquez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Named as Siemens but VERSAND MURRAY which is exactly what I was hoping for but may not be what you need in your situation / Code

Listed as Siemens but with Murray -Part numbers and Murray in picture. Of course, everyone knows that Siemens bought Murray and these series are interchangeable. BUT my local code inspector wouldn't miss a Murray panel with a variant of these same Semens switches, which is why I had to track down the Murrays, but they're sold out and I'm not sure if they're being made either. But even though it says Siemens here on Revain, they sent me Murrays and that was the end of the test. So if you're looking for Murrays for code compliance reasons, they're all compliant, installed some time ago, and free of the false alarms that are more common with older first-gen AFCIs. A NOTICE! These new combination switches do NOT want to share the neutral wire with other circuits. A lot of common house wiring, where every neutral wire is tied together in every box in the house, can turn them off. Therefore, with any newer type AFCI circuit, you may need to bypass individual neutrals on the AFCI protected leg to keep them isolated from all other circuits in the home. ATTENTION! If you include dimmers in an AFCI circuit, you may have fewer problems if the dimmer has a neutral wire. Many newer dimmers boast that they do NOT require a neutral wire, which simplifies wiring but can cause the AFCI to trip. The same applies to different LED lights, they can hit the target. Just something to watch out for if you're having trouble triggering the new AFCI style.
