I used this to replace Powerhead Marineland, Ordered my second powerhead from in so many years.Because the powerhead is used to power the gravel filter, every time the Marineland powerhead died, the biological balance in my aquarium was upset, resulting in green/blue-green algae blooms and fish stress.I almost got sick of it i went for the aquaclear version first of all this product is marked 'made in italy' however the filter seemed to be a quality product with a really tight venturi connection, a bottom 'funnel' " Adapters and adjustment levers that slide well, and suction cups that actually stick to the glass and don't come loose. Standard full lei configuration Well, this pump is actually almost too powerful for my 29 liter tank, to the point where it picked up dirt from the gravel filter first and blew it out. I tried using the yellow lever as I understand it should be a flow control valve but either it is not adjusted properly or it is meant to be used for the "fine" adjustment as there is a slight difference made - not much difference. I then used a green/red lever - it was described as a 'switch' to toggle between forward and reverse flow, but moving it slowly also 'macro-adjusts' the flow - once I got the flow rate right, that was it in order. The adjustable bottom position is handy as I don't have to bend the gravel pack tube slightly to get to it. I would also like to point out that the venturi section does indeed work correctly, with minor adjustments resulting in a gradual increase in bubbling, rather than essentially on/off like other pumps. As I said before, I went with a suction cup mount and they are similar to Eheim suction cups in that they don't seem to come loose when you stick them to the glass. the hanging bracket is also of very good quality as it is height adjustable and has a handle to adjust the bracket to the glass. Overall I would definitely recommend this powerhead given the low price.
