Great forward flow, terrible reverse flow

When I unpacked this thing I had high hopes. It's pretty durable and not cheap junk plastic. In a straight stream, it pushes a lot of water. Unfortunately I bought it for reverse flow. Backflow will block the normal outlet and open the side port to suck water. As long as the water exits below, the flow rate is very low. To be honest I don't see enough pressure to push water back through the gravel pack. Very disappointing! I eventually upgraded to a 70 and ran right through the gravel. It works

Pros
  • Max flow 270 GPH
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Quick filter is great but water flow is not adjustable

I like quick filters, they are great. They really help pick up small particles left in the water after I vacuumed the substrate and changed the water. You can run the quick filter for about an hour after a water change, then rinse the filter, let it dry and use it again in the following weeks after a water change. But the flow is not really regulated as advertised. The levers are difficult to move and don't seem to control the water flow very well. So it's really going full steam ahead no…

Pros
  • Provides stronger flow and consistent performance over time
Cons
  • Quick guide

I used this to replace Powerhead Marineland, Ordered my second powerhead from in so many years.Because the powerhead is used to power the gravel filter, every time the Marineland powerhead died, the biological balance in my aquarium was upset, resulting in green/blue-green algae blooms and fish stress.I almost got sick of it i went for the aquaclear version first of all this product is marked 'made in italy' however the filter seemed to be a quality product with a really tight venturi…

Pros
  • Quiet operation; Powerhead lifts water and moves it too
Cons
  • Compatibility
