I'm 63 and let me tell you they don't make them like they used to. This machine probably weighs 8 ounces. open box Throw in 4 ounces of Jolly Time and in minutes it will be bursting out with a colossal amount of brown corn. Bing-bing-bing hot little grains fly out. The popcorn itself was very dry. I've had a lot of popcorn machines. It's not trash. I'll throw it away as it's not even worth sending back. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Now it goes in the garbage. Update: I didn't throw it away but moved the popcorn to a heavy core and the machine works better. There is no switch. This is still the bottom of the barrel. Update: I've raised my rating from 1 to 3 stars after I started using heavier popcorn. With light little cannonballs, they shoot hot like little bullets. This popper is fine and like I said they don't make it the way they used to. They look the same but are much lighter and a cheaper product in my opinion.
