Doesn't charge anymore

Does it charge my phone on the go, yes. That's the whole reason I bought this. But what confused me is that it doesn't charge. After about a minute, the charging stops and I have to unplug and plug back into my phone. Am I doing something wrong? Connect it to the battery and connect your phone to it. Dead easy. It's well made, the plastic is very durable and looks like it could take a beating, but as for the charger I'm not sure.
