This is a standard card reader that plugs into your computer's USB port. It's USB 2.0, so not very fast. It has an indicator light to warn you when it's in a powered port and a short 4-inch USB cable that can be really useful for laptops as it prevents it from being plugged in nearby Ports blocked that you may be using at the same time. It works out. with SD and SDHC format CompactFlash cards and does not work with standard format CF cards.
