If you've ever tried to buy new electronics for your elderly parents, you know how difficult it can be. I bought this radio for my 89 year old mother who enjoys listening to distant radio stations. Her old hand tuned radio sounded terrible. I couldn't hear the voice and music from the noise. Digital tuning is excellent, sensitivity is good, noise reduction is excellent compared to your old radio. Thanks to the large display and the simple controls, she quickly mastered it. And she loves that she can easily switch between her favorite AM/FM radio stations and the weather band when needed. She loves it!
