The oil didn't escape when pouring. I used these for pure safflower oil and EVOO. So, that was what I hoped for. But, as I used the oil, droplets began to accumulate on the glass walls inside. No problem, I thought. I'll just stick them in the dishwasher. Sad to report that did not get the droplets off. The neck is too small to get in and scrub inside. I got out my bottle washer and after the second dishwasher run, I added Dawn and hot water and tackled the dried on droplets with the brush and grease.ELBOW grease, that is. More exercise than I wanted. Still I was glad I have them. The caps are also resistant to cleaning and I had to soak them in Dawn and hot water before running them through the dishwasher twice. I am sorry I can't recommend them if you are freaky about cleaning. I liked seeing the gleam as they sat on the shelf with no label to distract the eye. But, that only lasted until I tried to wash out the old oil before I replenished them with new oil. Also, it's best not to expose oil to light anyway. So I might keep the original oil containers and put maple syrup in these glass containers. I want to love them. I really do.
