Review on ☕ Aigostar Glass Electric Tea Kettle: Efficient 1.7L Hot Water Boiler in Sleek Black Design by Robert Castro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well designed basic kitchen appliance

This kettle works well in terms of both safety and ease of use and I've made some observations and measurements. The 2.5 foot power cord is marked "(UL) SJT 16AWG 300V" with a non-polarized plug similar to NEMA 5-15P but with no known markings other than "UL". The Intertek label on the power adapter says "900-1100W" and "Conforms to UL STD 1082" which is the correct UL specification for this type of home appliance. The glass of the kettle looks flawless and is the same thickness as the 0.5L (min.) capacity. The plastic parts are marked 1.0L and 1.7L (MAX) on two opposite sides, have a smooth and smooth/matte finish with no burrs, and the base containing the heating element and LED has an outer plastic cap, bearing the same Intertek label. . The LED bulb(s?) at the bottom of the teapot is reflected off a prism-shaped O-ring lens that appears to be part of the bottom of the glass flask. The handle has an upper push button switch that opens a spring-loaded cover and a lower rocker switch with "I" and "O" positions for turning on power. Power is supplied via a round socket in the center of the kettle's base, which connects to a plug located in the center of the power base. I followed the instructions and ran the kettle twice with a full (MAX) 1.7 liter fill. Using cold tap water measured at 68 F, it took the kettle exactly 9.0 minutes to reach a steady simmer measured at 211-212 F using both a non-contact infrared thermometer and a probe-type immersion thermometer. The kettle will automatically shut off about 20 seconds after it's fully boiled, and a small screen on the lid behind the spout prevents water from splashing out of the kettle during boiling, and also acts as a baffle to prevent flow surges when pouring. Removing the kettle from the stand is a simple upward movement from the stand, and the stand doesn't conduct any significant heat. Overall I have no negative comments, I find this device very easy to use and I am confident in the security features.
