Review on Justrite 7150140 Galvanized Laboratory Capacity by Bill Russett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as good as it could be.

We purchased this to store toluene in our lab. This security may be sufficient. I would like to have something suitable for a flammable solvent that can be used to fill small containers (like jars and jugs) without trying to fill a large container or pumping it out from the top. The problem with that might fill it in the first place. Unlike many plastic jars we have, there is no way to loosen the spring that closes the lid. You have to hold it open with your hand while filling. This does not improve the security of the situation. You either need a second person or you have to push something into the spring closing mechanism to keep the jar from closing. The lid is made of thin metal, but the actual sealing surface is made of cork material. Let's see how long this lasts. I am not sure if I will buy this product again. The outlet valve has SAE1/2"-20 threads on the outlet instead of NPT threads. To provide a plug for the outlet I bought a Dorman 65245 oil plug from Amazon.

Pros
  • Self-closing faucets ensure uninterrupted supply
Cons
  • No instructions
