Review on πŸ–₯️ Dell 27 Inch LED Lit Frameless Wide Screen Monitor, 1920X1080, 60Hz, HDMI - Discontinued Manufacturer Model β€Ž927M9 by Matt Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stunning clarity and colour, Dell quality and an amazing view with rimless lenses!

I bought this after a colleague bought a Dell Ultrasharp series monitor for graphics work. This monitor is flawless and perfect in every way. No dead pixels. No blurring or aberrations at corners or edges. AMAZING color and clarity. DIMENSIONS: An important note on sizing - the Revain description reflects the size of the monitor in the box, not the actual dimensions. - Actual screen dimensions without bezel are 23 1/2 inches wide x 13 1/4 inches. Height.- Screen dimensions including 7/8" bezel are 25 1/4" wide x 15" high.- Height including stand is 18 to 18 1/2" depending on how tilted are physical measurements, not to be confused with the advertised "screen size" which is measured diagonally, in this case 27 inches of course) RESOLUTION: AMAZING! I set the max resolution to 1920x1080 and I love it! I can put so much on screen it's amazing. Photos and graphics are bright and crisp, text is crisp and easy to read in Outlook emails, and everything "pops" with vivid clarity. It's important to note that 1920 x 1080 is a widescreen format and gamers may want 1920 x 1200. But otherwise NOTHING is missing in the visible resolution. WARRANTY: 3 years. This is a bit confusing as I have seen the same monitor on different websites with 1 year and 3 year warranties. Even Dell's website states that this monitor only has a 1 year warranty. So I called Dell customer service and gave the serial number of the S2740L I bought from Revain and they confirmed that there is a 3 year warranty if bought separately and I got that in writing. However, if you were to purchase the same monitor as part of a Dell computer system, it would ONLY RECEIVE 1 YEAR WARRANTY. It doesn't seem logical, but they said so. So if you are planning to buy this monitor, buy it separately and not as part of a system. PROS: - Glass from edge to edge looks VERY sexy and elegant. - Minimum bezel, only 7/8 inch bezel width means the maximum screen size for the monitor. the space it occupies. - Amazing colors and clarity, deep blacks, brilliant whites, no dullness at all. - Super thin! I had the same surprise as when I first took my Kindle out of the box - WOW, it's thin! - External power supply! I was specifically looking for a monitor with an external power supply. A bad external power supply is much easier to replace Secondly, the external power supply can be positioned further away from the user, keeping out more harmful electromagnetic radiation. If you're a professional graphic designer and have the extra cash, Dell UltraSharp has reportedly gone for true color and better rendering, but you really need to be a pro to notice or appreciate the difference. If you don't make a living from graphics, this will definitely do the trick. 3 year guarantee! (If purchased separately - see above) CONS: - A minor thing, but the glass is so shiny it can reflect annoying light. Be careful where you use this. You may need to change the angle or reposition your lights. This is a very small compromise for quality, but worth considering. You would be disappointed if you had a bright window behind your seat. - The height of the monitor isn't adjustable, but it's another very minor thing and a worthy compromise for base stability. - The USB ports do not support power when the monitor is off. (Small but worth a mention) CONCLUSION: You'll have to spend hundreds of dollars more to just get a slightly better monitor. Buy this, you won't be disappointed. ***** UPDATE 05/25/15 - 2 1/2 years of continuous use. NOT A SINGLE dead pixel. Not a single problem. This monitor is so good that I am now buying a second one. There are many other newer types of monitors on the market but this one is so durable that I would pick a winner.
