My computer originally came with a network cable, but I found it inconvenient to run a 75-foot cable through my house. So I bought this expecting a drop in speed, but they were more than I expected. I still get about 1/5 internet speed which as the name suggests is still good enough for me. I gave 2 stars for easy installation because I had to do some work and find out the model number to get the drivers online. If you buy this and the drivers don't install automatically I recommend going to Intel's website and getting their driver program, this worked for me.
