I've tried several lumbar supports and they usually get in the way in the car or on the seats - almost pushing me forward. This pillow is really soft and lays claim to the foam I feel when propped up without feeling like I have a log in my back. I tested it on my sofa and my office chair, I liked it on both. I haven't had to take the pillowcase off to wash it yet but it looks well made and I expect it will be fine with a good wash. I don't recommend it for underfoot use. It doesn't raise them very much, and while I tuck them comfortably under my ankles in my chair, I don't feel like I get any supportive benefits from it.
