Review on 🌈 Govee Dimmable Changing Bluetooth Equivalent: Enhancing Home Ambiance with Wireless Control by Latoya Luckett

Accidentally bought a few other brands because their ad copy didn't make it clear what they did or didn't do, how they connected etc. The first ended up needing a hub which I had or didn't want to buy , the second worked over WiFi or Bluetooth, but when I set them all up, the application was never able to detect them or connect to them. However, this brand was outstanding right out of the box. The Govee Home app is quite simple and well designed. The bulbs themselves screw in like any regular incandescent bulb and unlike the others there was no "on-off three times until they flash slow or fast then turn on bluetooth etc etc." I just turned them on, went to the App, the app found the lightbulbs immediately, I want to rename them, and that's it. After that, they worked exactly as advertised. You can match them to almost any color, you can try many custom color palettes or lighting effects, or create your own. Bluetooth is said to have a limited range, but at least in our one-story ranch home, about 1610 square feet. ft. I have yet to go somewhere in our area where I wouldn't be able to plug in and control any of the installed lights. Your own mileage may vary if you have a multi-storey building or particularly thick building materials between rooms/floors. At the moment I have bought a set of two and have placed one in the main lamp in the living room and the other in my own bedside lamp as shown in my picture and I can control both from another room which is at opposite ends of this A house. each other. They have a slight lag in response time, but it's not annoying. My wife uses an Android phone and I use an iPhone. We've successfully verified that each of us can use the app for our respective devices and control the lights in the same way anyway (although only one of you can control the lights at a time, you can't just send commands back and forth; each user has to briefly reconnect to that lightbulb and then control it). I have some mobility issues as well as an upcoming series of surgeries that will temporarily keep me even more bedridden and with little comfort in stretching to reach light switches or train chains. This gives me a lot more control over things without burdening my wife with turning the lights on and off for me. Overall this is a great brand and model in their line. I intend to buy more in the future, just wish they would offer 4 pack boxes like some other brands at an even higher price. But overall I have no complaints, VERY happy with this product.
