Review on πŸ”Š Monolith Multi-Channel Power Amplifier - Black with 3x200 Watt Per Channel, XLR Inputs for Home Theater & Studio: Unleash Crystal Clear Audio Power by Nicole Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great audiophile amp

I bought the 2 channel version to accompany my Marantz SR7009 when I wanted a stereo session. I have used Pangea 14se mk2 power cords for both this amp and my Marantz. The amp is heavy, through the top eye you can see a toroidal transformer and a huge radiator for each channel. Definitely a quality amp made (designed and assembled) in the USA. It easily overclocks my Dynaudio dm3/7, a hard speaker with 4 ohms impedance, 86 dB sensitivity and IEC >200 W+ power consumption. Even after several hours of use, this device does not heat up at all. This is definitely an audiophile quality amplifier. The remote power cable is a handy feature, it connects to my Marantz so I don't have to constantly turn both devices on and off. I compared it to Shia Vidar, in the end I got my Shia Vidar back and I don't look back. Update 1: I changed my source to MacBook Pro/PS Audio GCD and this amp sings great. This amplifier is only as good as the source connected to it. This is definitely an audiophile amp. My references are Luxman 550axii and McIntosh ma252. Update 2 (03/02/2020): I changed my setup to Desktop Near Field Setup, I use this amp with Sonus Faber Chameleon and Aune T1 with Siemens cca Tube Buffer. My Marantz SR7009 was the bottleneck as it couldn't play higher resolution audio. I finally found synergy with the above combination. Depending on what you are looking for in sound as an "audiophile" this amp can offer audio resolution that is 5x the price. I have never regretted buying this amp. Update 3 (5/19/2020): I recently bought a Magnepan 1.7i and my two integrated amps (Mcintosh and Luxman) didn't seem to revive the 1.7i. I replaced it with a Monoprice and its sheer power took my 1.7i to a whole new level. I use schiit sys as preamp and htpc with installed evga nu audio pro as source.
