Its worth it! However, you must cut the key!

So when I received this I was very excited because my old key fob, although fully functional, has no buttons at all (I only opened my doors from memory and closed and my fingers are thin enough to go through the holes) - I was SUPER disappointed when I went to put the key in the ignition only to find out I had to CUT the key OFF first. After calling locksmiths around town who wanted $70-$145 just to CUT the key, I decided to just take the already cut key out of my old key fob and put it in the new key fob - DON'T TRY THAT , if you have a Buick Verano. like my. There is a chip in the key which activates your alarm system and will not allow you to start the car until it is put back into the original fob. So after reading online and finding someone with similar issues, I came across an article that said Batteries Plus will cut a key for less than $40 (check local price) if you have the original key, and then you can program it. like adding a key. I tried it and it works! It's only been 24 hours, but unlocking, locking and setting an alarm works. I haven't tried remote start yet, but I'm pretty sure it works fine too. I'm very happy with it!

Pros
  • High quality finish
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
