This is the way.

Got a size 1-2 for a 6 year old little man and it was really perfect. Although it was slightly larger for his feet, it was just the right size to grow into. It would make more sense to put Luigi on the left foot (because of the L and everything else), but first the measurements require more detail. I bought this as a shot in the blue and it worked well.
