Build quality and cable finish is excellent and will probably work 100% on PCs and probably many Macs. I've also found it to be a hit/miss Mac and my case didn't work. Try searching the web to see if your Mac actually works with this cable. Doesn't work with my iMac 27". Late 2012. Hooked it up to a Marantz NR1604 receiver and then to a Panasonic projector. The Mac froze every time I tried to switch it to "external monitor". I can't figure out why Although there are several forums trying to solve this problem. Didn't have time to dig further "why" had to issue a return. BUT it doesn't seem to be the manufacturer's fault. I believe the cable works exactly as intended. OSX Mountain Lion is probably not processing the return signal from the receiver correctly. If you use this to connect a projector to your Mac, this could happen to you.
