I used this CAT 8 cable to connect my PS5 to my network switch. It worked right away without issue. The quality of the cable seems like it is very good. The nylon braid gives it a premium feel over the PVC jacketed ones, though I don't think that matters with regard to performance. Speed is important to me given that I'm using this for gaming. There was no lag during gameplay. Performance was good/normal. As of this point in time, I don't think the average user will gain a speed advantage using CAT 8 vs. CAT 6 because the speed bottleneck is probably somewhere else in your hardware, network, or with your ISP. You can get two CAT 6 cables for the price of this one CAT 8 cable. If you don't need the extra speed potential, save your money and get the CAT 6. Or if you're a fanatic like me, I thought it was worth getting this cable to kind of "future proof" my network since it is the newer protocol.
