Review on ๐Ÿฉฒ Truform Unisex-Adult Large (8-15 mmHg): Optimal Compression for All-Day Comfort by Brandon Mcvey

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average quality - not the best

When I opened the plastic bag of my Truform 1913BL-L compression stockings, it actually smelled like some kind of soapy disinfectant. When I buy socks they usually smell fresh and new with no odor. I hand washed them in lukewarm water and noticed that the water in the sink had turned completely black. These socks are made of 75% acrylic, 22% nylon and 3% spandex. The process of correctly coloring acrylic requires a great deal of experience, and Truform must have that experience. Properly colored acrylic should be relatively colorfast, so I have to blame them for not producing a colorfast product. I bought the 8-15 which are for light compression only but I think the compression quality is too low compared to other brands and they didn't stay up on my calf during the day. I bought another brand from a big market. Consisting of 55% polyester, 40% nylon and 5% spandex. I find that Mart socks generally offer better support and higher quality at a much lower price point than Truform socks. Also, another brand smelled fresh and clean. On the packaging of the brand from the "March" store, the compression is also indicated as 8-15, so they are similar. Having recently purchased these Truform socks I can't comment on their durability but they appear to be of good quality. After washing Truform socks, the chemical smell will disappear. So if your socks smell on arrival, you can wash them before wearing. Also, acrylic isn't really breathable, so remember that Truform socks can be warm in summer and this can be beneficial in winter. I rate the Truform 1913BL-L socks as average and would not recommend buying them. I will not buy another pair of these.
