Review on Garmin 010-01769-09 Vívoactive 3 by Jhalak Jhalak ᠌

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

For those who have experience with classic Garmin Forerunner running watches, the first time you use the VivoActive 3, you may be a little confused: where have all the buttons gone? On the left side, you can find a ribbed strip (Side swipe), which reacts to touch and changes screens. This strip is designed to replace the buttons, but I’ll say right away that I hardly used it, as there is another more practical option. VivoActive 3 is served through the Touch screen. In the process of setting up and synchronizing with the phone, there are clear explanations on how to maintain the watch. Everything is familiar, as in the phone - we scroll up / down, by pressing and holding your finger for a few seconds we go one level of the menu deeper, by touching we select an option and by moving from left to right we return one step forward. We also tested the watch outdoors at zero temperature, but at the same time we did not experience any inconvenience: the device responds well to the touch of touch gloves. The glass does not get dirty, readability is excellent, maintenance is convenient, but the screen reacts not only to fingers, but also to other touches. In winter, clothes or drops of water in the shower can switch screens, as happened with me. But the screen is not difficult to block. The elegant design of VivoActive 3 allows you to wear the watch all the time and record your fitness indicators throughout the day, compare activity and achieve goals. The battery is capacious, can last 4-5 days in normal mode. In my case, the charge dropped from 100% to 20% in four days. I think that with its design and NOT overloaded with functions, with an emphasis on practicality (touch screen, the possibility of shopping, connecting to the phone, more fitness options than sports ones), the watch will suit women first of all. Garmin VivoActive 3 is a good gift for familiar athletes.

Pros
  • The main features of the model are touch-screen service and contactless payment for Garmin Pay purchases. The watch has a built-in wrist-based heart rate monitor for continuous fitness tracking. The clock can be connected to the phone, receive messages, calls.
Cons
  • Compared to the Forerunner series, I felt that the GPS receiver was weaker. In the forest (and not very dense) I waited for a signal for 10-15 minutes. In the city, when I went out for a run with a training group and there was no time to wait for the signal, the clock “turned on” only after 2 km already in the open area near the river. Navigation is quite limited. The clock points through the arrow in a straight line or to a pre-stored place and leads you back to the starting point. There is no possibility to move in this watch on a specific track.
