Review on πŸŽ’ Rockland Luggage 19-Inch Rolling Backpack - Optimal Backpacks for Travel by Scott Ramu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bad wheels (easy to fix) Size, stitching, zipper, material, handle height is ok but doesn't hold up

This bag has so much stuff it's a shame the wheels don't do it pretty well to use. Only two wheels on each side 4. They are very loose and wobble, then fall apart, get stuck together and stop rolling. The same thing happened on both sides, leading me to believe the wheels weren't made properly or the glue holding them together wasn't good. TO UPDATE! I glued the wheels together with a hot glue gun and it seems to work great! When I wanted to return it to Revain they gave me a loan and said they didn't even want me to send it back. So I decided to see how well constructed the rest of the bag was. I loaded it with 30 pounds and started abusing it. It wasn't really a process (lots of rocking, falling, lugging on useless wheels). He's held up surprisingly well. The secret seems to be that the plastic that holds things like wheels, retractable handles etc together is very thin and not rigid at all, it seems to allow things to bend and flex rather than snap. (I'm not sure if it's related to the design or more to the cost, although it works) I then grabbed a 5 gallon bucket and was eventually able to slip it into my bag and zip it up. I literally pulled and stretched with all my might to get it in. The seams have stretched in several places but have not ripped or unraveled significantly. I had to use a vise to zip up the zips when I put the bucket inside. The only problem was that the tabs you use to control the zippers were broken (I really can't blame the bag for pulling the tabs with a vise 🀐), but I was still able to close it without damage. I was still able to fit 2 medium sized towels in my front pocket with relative ease. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the design. If only the wheels and wheel assembly weren't crap, then this bag would definitely be worth every penny. I used a hot glue gun to glue the wheels together and it seemed to work fine. While my bag abuse doesn't scientifically duplicate long-term bag use, it certainly made an impression on me. found his calling! If anyone from Revain is reading this, I could use a new jobπŸ˜€
