Review on Yokohama Advan Sport V105 225/55 R17 105Y summer by Micha Gozdalik ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

Comparing the V105 with the V103, Yokohama is heading in the right direction. The tires have really gotten better. It holds a little better in the dry, an order of magnitude better in the wet than the previous Advan Sport model. The sidewall has become a little rounder and softer, as a result, rutting is felt much less. The composition of the rubber itself also became a little softer, it warms up faster, at a temperature of +10 it behaves quite tolerably (V103 at +10 was like plastic). At the same time, the rubber remained quite hard, which has a positive effect on wear resistance, allows you to slip, to spin the wheels during acceleration without the risk of buying a new set immediately after that. In terms of speed, of course, it will not reach Conti Sport, but it also costs much less, while remaining in condition longer, when rags are already flying from the kontik, the eka still holds on. Rubber loves when you start it a little, warm it up, after that it gets much better, but there are also improvements in the civilian (vegetable) version of the ride. With the old brake configuration on the same roads, ABS interferes much less during hard braking. I am satisfied with the purchase, satisfied with the behavior on wet and completely rain-drenched asphalt. Instead of drainage grooves, they made palm-wide ditches. On dry, a little more grip . I'm waiting for the next model.

Pros
  • Derzhak on wet asphalt, behaves well on hot asphalt in a warm state. Rigid sidewall - excellent feedback, less "wool", quite responsive, no hernias, although a couple of times the discs bent in the pits.
Cons
  • Noisy, I would like more dry grip.
