I used to use a cheap mini-USB adapter on my desktop computer, but it almost never went above 40Mbps or so. I realized that I need a 5GHz adapter, which is. I now get the full advertised internet speed (actually a bit more) than my old cheap USB adapter. Drivers were included but not required. Also, it seems to work on Linux, which is a big plus for USB network adapters.
