This is very cute. But no, it will not fit a standard American size box of tissues. The cube ones will not fit either as they are taller. I removed tissues from a box and put them inside the spot but they are too large - had to smoosh them in there. I'm going to have to try using tissues from a cube to see if they work better, or try to find a brand with a much smaller box. The edges are slightly rough but if you aren't looking closely at it you wouldn't notice. The cut outs are adorable! I am excited to try this out at my work desk. I think I will go ahead and order the shelves too.
