I drink a lot of loose leaf tea and my computer brewer allowed too much sediment to get into my tea. I needed small holes to soak in and also wanted something metallic for a healthier brew (plastic releases toxins when heated). This little guy is perfect! This is the perfect length for both short and tall cups. The bottom of my tea has the least amount of debris (aside from the paper tea bag) and the silicone type that's hanging around is very whimsical. The fun of it even motivated my kids to drink more tea (yay, for the health benefits). For a better clean, I remove the silicone pad, throw whatever I can in the compost bin, and let the leftovers air dry in the pipe in the sink. When it dries, I shake off the leftovers and mine, like the rest of the dishes. The silicone is easy to put on and take off, it stays firmly attached with a small groove for the metal rim. The price was fantastic too! Highly recommended!
