This is not fake Mungyo pastels, this is Mungyo's original oil pastels (NOT the Gallery Soft line which falls into the artist category but it is a more solid, academic series) that Mungyo makes for a few other brands, as well as their watercolors (Prima/Jane Davenport watercolors are all Myungos). So if you have these pastels in mind, compare them to Myungo's signature pastels - not soft galleries, but the original academic line. - The packaging is almost identical. As for this product - they are very small, very solid pastels. They're less messy than the softer Gallery series, but they don't cover as well and are harder to blend. I like them for detail - their tiny size and firm consistency make it easy to draw sharp lines and other sharp details that I can't get with softer, bulkier pastels. But for general use, I recommend starting simply with the Soft Color Gallery - they're beautiful, creamy, and a pleasure to use.
