I have previously reviewed this unit very positively. It was bought in mid-January; It is now May and the device has stopped working. Visual inspection of the power block shows that the corner of the case has melted. The device also made a clicking noise that resembled the crunching of fans; Internal inspection shows that it is actually the noise of a particularly fast-switching relay. I can't determine which part failed first, but I suspect one of them caused the other to fail. I would stay away from this device for security reasons. The humidity in our bathroom was kept out by a nifty fan so we bought this dehumidifier after the mini dehumidifier also failed. This unit was perfect for our needs as the bathroom doesn't have a lot of floor space so we needed one that would sit over the toilet tank. We routed the drain hose directly into the back of the toilet cistern to be maintenance free. In combination with a fan, this dehumidifier reduces the humidity in our bathroom with a maximum humidity of up to 50% within 2.5 hours after a shower. The perfect balance between size and efficiency.
