Royal & Langnickel Essentials Painting Set - Great student quality starter set for school children and older children. Wood graphite and charcoal pencils don't splinter under heavy use, and I love that the set includes not only a metal (not plastic!) sharpener, but also a piece of sandpaper (for a finer sharpening). I really wish there were more charcoal and charcoal pencils as young and aspiring artists tend to break them easier than seasoned professionals. I would also like to see an eraser (and maybe a suede cloth) included in the set along with the kneaded eraser. All in all, this is an amazing, well thought out beginner's kit that offers plenty of options for those experimenting. with new tools and skills. Combine this with the case and Royal & Langnickel's other popular beginner's drawing set (which includes an eraser and more charcoal and flesh-colored Conté crayons) and you've got a complete set for the art student. I will recommend it to my students!
