Great headphones with bad software

Overall: I like the headphones but the software client performance is very slow and buggy. Construction: These headphones have a well-made feel. I've had them for a few weeks now and they're pretty stable so far. I have some weight in my hands but I don't feel any weight on my head. Comfort: These headphones fit my large head perfectly. I'm one of those people who get headaches from a hat that's too tight or unbuttoned. It was no problem for me to play them for hours. The earbuds are big enough to fit completely around my ears instead of sitting on them. Sometimes they seem a little warm, but that's more my problem. The detachable microphone is also very good. Sound: I'm not an audiophile, but I also hate cheap tinny sound. The sound quality is just right for me. I didn't care about the default equalizer but am very happy with it after creating a custom profile. Surround Sound: Personally, I don't need it. To me it sounds like a "concert hall" effect on home audio receivers. I just leave them in stereo. It doesn't really bother me as I didn't buy them for the surround effect. Controls: There is a power button at the bottom of the right earcup. Turns them on/off with a long press. A short press is used to prevent an automatic shutdown when prompted after 5 minutes (configurable) of inactivity. There is a microphone on/off button on the left earbud that works with a short press. Long press toggles microphone feedback on/off. Microphone feedback is useful for checking how you sound or if the microphone is picking up noise from something around you. On the back of the left earcup is an analog volume knob that works well but looks like a cheap potentiometer compared to the rest of the build quality. Audio Delay: No noticeable delay. This is something I used to worry about when playing games with a wireless headset. Range: The range is decent. It's a little frustrating because it doesn't reach my downstairs kitchen. My computer is in the upstairs bedroom in a simple wooden frame. It would be nice to be able to keep talking while I run to the kitchen for a drink. However, you may not have everything. Software: This is where things go wrong. The bottom line is that the software is unacceptably slow for what it does. The functionality is great, but the lags are incredible. I use a decent computer with a solid state drive. I can't figure out what this app is doing when it takes 10-15 seconds for the client to come to the foreground from the taskbar. It doesn't break there. Oh, and have the audacity to show ads for games in the control program. This only makes sense for products that Corsair sells for money. What were they thinking? It's a shame that such a well-made product suffers from terrible software. Corsair, solve this problem! I would like to raise my rating to 5 stars.
