Great portable radio/CD player but uses batteries

I had this radio for two years and listened to it almost every day. Using the CD player charges up very quickly (maybe a day or so if you play it most of the day) so I just agreed to using the CD player from time to time. I estimate that I used the radio for at least a couple of hours an average of 4-5 days a week and used about 8 sets of batteries in a year. My friend stepped on the antenna cable that came out of this thing and ripped it out completely and I just smeared the end with glue, put the cable back where it came from and used it as a daily radio for another year. took it to the beach, camping, other outdoor places and used it with wet hands (washing dishes in the kitchen) and it worked. I liked it so much I bought another one after deciding to give away the one with the antenna ripped out and glued back in place (reception was pretty good but not as many stations as I thought if the original antenna was intact was). Anyway, this item is a bit clunky, the setting sucks because there's no "search function" so one click on the dial is enough to find the station and it eats C batteries like a master, but it's also a good portable waterproof CD player/radio with decent sound.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Out of style
