I am not a professional photographer, before purchasing Nikon J1, I used Sony's "soap box", and considered the pictures taken to be quite good. And so it broke down and I decided to buy something better and opted for the Nikon J1. Bought. I inserted a memory card from the "soap box". I took pictures on Nikon J1, and began to view the pictures. The new pictures are great, but the ones from the soap dish turned out to be terrible compared to the new ones. I (not a professional) really liked the camera, the menu is easy, understandable, the settings are accessible, shooting is fast, and most importantly, it fits in a purse. I carry it everywhere with me in my purse, and it's not a strain (not like carrying a DSLR). Cool fotik recommend to all "teapots" like me. Connoisseurs in photography can and will find flaws, but I did not find it, I I really like Nikon J1, it did not disappoint me, I am happy that I bought it.
