Doesn't work on Mercedes SLK230

From the description I was hoping this would work on my Mercedes SLK230 (with M12x1.5 thread btw). The threads match, but the wheel bolt holes do not match the dowel pin because the dowel pin tapers with very little play at the beginning. A very small gap is good, but the wheel must fit the entire spigot. This renders the product unusable.
