Just don't make them the way they used to be
I like off-road traction. I think the insole should be flatter (I got tendonitis in my thumb after a few weeks of hiking/transportation) or the insole could be fuller. Design on the back near the ankle separates the shoes. Shoes I've only had for a few months that have hardly been worn in that time.
