I made the installation very easy for myself by reading the reviews and eliminating two cons right away. Bolts/Nuts: Complaints about the back and forth movement of the seat are valid. At the end are two plastic levers with hooks that secure the seat to the mounting base. One of these arms is slightly longer than the other, allowing you to swing from one side. I cut a thin piece of plastic thick enough to fill the gap on the exposed side between the seat and bracket and glued it to the seat. THEN I used the screws that came with it, discarding the plastic nuts. I added steel nuts to each bolt, 2 flat washers and 2 spring washers in addition to each bolt. After making sure the base and seat were properly positioned on the bowl, I tightened the screws as tight as I dared. This seat doesn't move at all. The water connections I restored are HERE as far as I dare. No leaks, this unit works great, I haven't used toilet paper in days and it's a joy to be so clean.
