I bought these ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 bookshelf speakers over a month ago so they had time to break them in. I started them with an old Pioneer VSX-502 that died shortly after I bought these speakers. The sound with this receiver was good, but did not inspire confidence in the speakers. Soon I upgraded (upgraded) to an Onkyo TX-SR373 5.2 receiver. The speakers came alive and got quite musical. I'm not a music lover but the speakers sound crisp and clear. My only reference was my old Polk RT55i/RT35i speakers, which were sleek, warm, and detailed. ELACs are quite detailed at high frequencies. They are clean and not as forgiving of "regular" MP3 or Spotify downloads due to the lack of detail. They are also good at their low frequency extension for 5.25" speakers. Can't measure how deep but they don't struggle with lower mid bass. It was risky buying them without hearing them. They are worth the money .They are quite large for a bookshelf. The body shape and finish are quite soft.I think the sound quality compensates for these shortcomings.
