amazing speakers at Home Audio

Very happy with these speakers. I spent a lot of time researching and almost clicked on KEF/Klipsch because I had the budget and liked the aesthetic better. ELACs look way better in real life than they do in marketing materials and catalog images, and I love their old-school look. The front ports are important in the apartment and I have them close to the wall. Paired with the new Yamaha WXA-50 and the combination works really well for me. I planned a small subwoofer, but still enjoy it…

Frighteningly good! - Bookshelf speakers

Very detailed speakers for the money. Just received but immediately impressed. I'm using a Yamaha R-N303 2-channel receiver, a Marantz TT42 turntable. I also use the Tidal Hifi Music service through BT. still about to be hacked. You are in a 10x10 space and are way more powerful than I thought. I prefer their sound on Marantz. Some songs on Tidal Hifi sound amazing, others are pretty bright. I have a small Vizio center and subwoofer and base for a couple of songs and thought there was a…

Great sound for bookshelf speakers

I bought these ELAC Debut 2.0 B5.2 bookshelf speakers over a month ago so they had time to break them in. I started them with an old Pioneer VSX-502 that died shortly after I bought these speakers. The sound with this receiver was good, but did not inspire confidence in the speakers. Soon I upgraded (upgraded) to an Onkyo TX-SR373 5.2 receiver. The speakers came alive and got quite musical. I'm not a music lover but the speakers sound crisp and clear. My only reference was my old Polk…

Excellent value for money for home audio

I've had the Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 for a few weeks now. My ears are attached to a body over 60 and it's "unclear" :) There was some audio spectrum attenuation. I've had a Yamaha YAS-107 soundbar hooked up to my TV for a number of years, so it's a soundbar comparison in a way. The Elac sound is very good overall, but the soundbar is better at higher frequencies. and voice. Its signal processing is excellent in it. I've tried running TV audio through my Denon AVR-S750H and Elac, but I prefer the…

Too glaring for me: Speaker

To be honest, I was quite surprised when I lit it up at all the rave reviews. I found the speaker too bright and a bit harsh. I have NHT SuperZeros and Sonos Ones and Elacs were too hot for me. I can not understand. Maybe it's because the iPod generation with headphones damaged their ears and the rest are just older than me and have lost their hearing at high frequencies. I know my hearing is impaired but I find the b5.2 a bit noisy. It's not terrible, mind you. If I reduce the highs by about…

The price seems high for a non-audiophile, but it's worth every penny.

For music lovers, this is a "budget" record. To ordinary people, they will seem expensive. All I can say is they are worth it. After purchasing the HTIB system, which I wanted to keep on budget, I found that the speakers that came with it (Yamaha's YHT-4930UBL system) were quite thin, especially in the middle. Tried replacing the center with a Pioneer SP-C22 but although much improved it was still too bright in the high frequencies (crisp sound). Read a lot about these speakers and the…

Cons
  • Periodicity

Not an audiophile killer, outperforms other cheap speakers.

They're good for $230, not good enough for $300. The thing is, with so many terrible products available online at this price point, this is a great deal because you are guaranteed to get a quality product that looks great. You are musical. But people classify them as audiophile quality at a much lower price. So much so that I bought a pair and put them on an Audio Research preamp, a hand-made tube amp with cables that cost more than speakers. I compared them to a well known vendor Dynavox kit…
