Review on ELAC Debut Bookshelf Speakers Black Home Audio by Amy Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent value for money for home audio

I've had the Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 for a few weeks now. My ears are attached to a body over 60 and it's "unclear" :) There was some audio spectrum attenuation. I've had a Yamaha YAS-107 soundbar hooked up to my TV for a number of years, so it's a soundbar comparison in a way. The Elac sound is very good overall, but the soundbar is better at higher frequencies. and voice. Its signal processing is excellent in it. I've tried running TV audio through my Denon AVR-S750H and Elac, but I prefer the soundbar for regular TV. The sound is much cleaner and more spacious. When streaming music through my TV and AVR, Elac is much better. I was planning on putting the soundbar aside and using the AVR with Elac for both TV and music, but I've decided to leave the soundbar connected to the TV for now. and use your AVR to stream your music. I bought an HDMI switch to easily switch between my TV/soundbar and Elac TV/receiver or to use the Elac TV/receiver alone for music. Seems to be the best solution at the moment. I'm curious how a good 3.1 soundbar sounds in comparison. All in all I don't regret buying Elac. They sound very nice for their size.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
