In November 2019 I bought six packs of these premium microfibre cloths (black/grey). The packaging says you can use it to clean lenses, binoculars, etc. At first I only used them to clean my computer screen, which is black anyway, and they seemed to do their job well, although it took a few passes to remove everything. dirt/fingerprints. I then started cleaning my glasses and noticed that after prolonged use my fingers/nails were covered in black hair and the glasses never really got clean (streaks were left behind). After wiping the black microfiber cloth with a white paper towel, I noticed that the paper towel was covered in the same dark pile. When I brought back the freshly cleaned laptop screen and wiped it down with a separate damp light-colored cloth, I noticed the exact same black lint gathering around the edges of the screen. Microfiber towels are not meant to work that way - a good microfiber towel leaves no lint and is able to remove dirt, fingerprints and light grease without water or detergent. And of course it must not leave any piles or other traces. I strongly advise against using these fabrics on delicate or valuable items (eyeglasses, camera lenses, etc.). Even if they appear high quality at first glance, they do not work the way microfiber towels are supposed to work. Others find quality differences between batches, so this may be a quality control issue.
